repair tools recipes

There was one problem with the new Blacksmith profession. It often happens that a blacksmith makes and sells only new tools and does not buy old ones used for repair. The reason will probably be that the saving of material during repair is not so lucrative and does not give any XP. If there was a recipe for example "repair the iron axe", then the whole process could be automated, the upgrades in the tables could be used to make the repair cheaper and get XP.
I had 15 axes on the white tiger that I couldn't get repaired because no one was buying them.

Most servers also use the Whetstone mod making repairs essentially pointless. I'd suggest requesting your server to add such mod as it's a very good feature which allows remote repairs of tools. It won't solve any issues with Blacksmithing having little to actually do in their role, but it will at least make the process of repairing more streamlined for everyone.
If its White Tiger you're playing on well you'll have to stick with what they offer and when they make changes.

It seems like it’s not actually set up where blacksmiths are more efficient then repairing them ourselves. Non-blacksmiths can repair iron tools for 5 iron ingots just like blacksmiths can as long as they’ve purchased and “learned” the skill, but not necessarily used the star to take the skill. From my understanding, there’s a perk where it makes it more efficient? Didn’t check that for myself, just heard it verbally from a friend who took the skill. But yeah it seems the best way is to “learn” the skill, and repair it yourself by just buying the iron…

But by that time, the server would just kinda expect to do it themselves… so idk I just repair myself until they possibly change it in the future

The repair system has a planned ( and mostly done) overhaul that is coming with 10.3 which introduces progressive decay of tools and will make creation of new tools not just a necessary part but will be crucial to keep players equipped with modern equipment.
Edit: This change was planned when we were doing the changes to the blacksmith and why the repair costs were untouched as we simply did not want to it twice
